National DCS-205 Digital Microscope

Grades 5–12. Introducing the new DCS series of digital microscopes, the first education-level microscopes to offer built-in LCDs and simultaneous viewing through a traditional eyepiece. Combining high-quality construction; a versatile digital camera; a built-in, high-resolution 7” touch screen color LCD; and multiple outputs; this is an all-in-one digital microscope that is fully functional without a computer. Representing the latest in educational technology advancements, the DCS-205 is ideal for group learning.

Its built-in 2.0-megapixel camera captures stills and video clips of specimens that can be saved on a micro SD card (included) or shared via Wi-Fi™ with tablets, laptops, and iOS or Android™ smartphones. The HDMI output provides the option of sending 720p live images to an HD monitor or projector. Use the included MotiConnect app to capture, measure, and edit images at the touch of a finger.

This microscope is a slightly scaled down version but with equal quality and similar features of full-sized, more expensive units. Unlike other smaller microscopes, the 205 features an 18-mm eyepiece for a larger field of view. It also features variable-intensity, state-of-the-art LED illumination that produces virtually no heat.
